Department of Defense - MIL-STD 276A - Impregnation of Porous Nonferrous Metal Castings
Scope: This standard covers the requirements and tests for the impregnation of structurally sound castings and powder metal components in aluminum, magnesium, copper, iron (excluding steels) and zinc alloys. Components for Naval service shall be shown to be structurally sound in accordance with MIL-STD-278. It is also applicable to test specimens used for evaluating impregnating materials in accordance with MIL-I-17563.
Department of Defense - MIL-I-17563C - Impregnants for Cast or Powder Metal Components
Scope: This specification covers the requirements for impregnants suitable for use in sealing the voids found in cast or powder metal components which cause leaking of contained fluids. This specification covers the impregnants in bulk form only and not after they have been used to impregnate the metallic component.
